Masters

 

After having acquired the fundamental knowledges in Bachelor's degree, the Master is the place where the student go into more depth on the theoretical and practical skills acquired through core training.

The Master is a second cycle diploma open to the students whith at least a Bachelor's degree (180 ECTS) diploma. At least 180 ECTS means that access to a Master at IAD can require the achievement of prerequisites that are essential to the good pursuance of the Master's programme. Those prerequisites have been called "bridges". The bridge counts a certain amount of ECTS depending on the previous training of the applicant.

For students with a transition Bachelor’s diploma in Performing Arts

At the end of the three years of the transition bachelor’s degree, students have access to two types of Masters :

  • Masters 120 organized on two years (MA120).
  • Masters 60 organized on one year : when Masters are organizes on 120 ECTS, the Communauté française imposes to high artistic schools to organize also a training on 60 ECTS. This Master 60 must be thenconsidered as a "light" Master.

 

Masters 120 (MA120)

Masters in 120 ECTS (MA120)  proposes three focuses.The professional focus if the student wants to go in for the practise of a craft, the didactical focus if the student wants to go in for teaching and the research focus for the student who wants to go in for a PhD. In each focus, the student can choose between different options.

For students with a professional Bachelor’s diploma in Performing Arts (180 ECTS)

Students with a transition Bachelor's (180 ECTS) diploma in Performing Art can decide to go into more depth in their training by acceding to the corresponding 60 Master (60 ECTS) through a bridge of 6 ECTS.

 

Master 60 (MA60)

Masters in 60 ECTS (MA60) proposes proposes four different training according to the optional courses choosen by th estudent. In each optional course, the student will choose for a more specific orientation.
